Willie Mae Chapin

Willie Mae Chapin, age 99, of Cottondale formerly of McCalla, passed away at her residence on November 12, 2025. Mrs. Chapin was born December 5, 1925 to the late Dave and Nancy Haney Hyden. Also proceeding her in death was her husband, Bro. Leonard P. Chapin, Sr; sons, Eddy and Carl Chapin and her granddaughter Erin Gaston; siblings, Johnny, Dave, and Gus Hyden, Mary Edwards, Louise Ray, Benny Hyden and Katherine Hyden.

Survivors include her children, Margaret Allison (Lloyd), Paul Chapin and Barbara Hester (Dave); grandchildren, Ellen McCormick (Greg), Allen Humphrey (Jennifer), Juli Collum (Chris), Vince Hester (Jada), Donna Pintaro (Tony), Kent Chapin, Sammantha Crane (Cody) and Tabitha Austin (Josh) and a host of other relative and friends.

Mrs. Chapin was the wife of a minister and lived her life everyday to fulfill that roll. She retired from Golden Flake after many years of committed service. She enjoyed traveling, working her word search puzzles , the holidays and cooking. She was a wonderful mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Chapin will certainly be missed, but remembered, by all who were fortunate enough to know her. 

Graveside funeral services will held Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 at Forest Grove Memorial Gardens,        1498 5th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Al 35127, with Bro. Ken Blake officiating.
