Willard Cecil Hendrix

My beloved husband, Willard Cecil Hendrix (Buddy), passed away March 14, 2026, at the VA hospital in Birmingham, AL, at the age of 65. He was not only my husband, but my friend. His laughter filled every corner of our home and he never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone. Buddy was a devoted husband and was known for his patience, generosity, and a strong sense of duty. He was an Army Veteran (E5 Sergeant) and he loved Military Life.

Buddy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Johnson; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard M. Hendrix; his sisters, Charlotte Majors and Sherry Gail Hendrix; and his brother, Richard T. Hendrix, (Ricky); niece, Kimberly D. Watkins; nephew, Paul D. Butler; and brother-in-law, Mr. Don Murphree.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Sheila Hendrix; sisters, Mrs. Wanda Murphree, Ms. Pam Simmons, and Mrs. Donna Hendrix (Robert); brother, Mr. Bobby Hendrix and sister, Mrs. Barbara Cash; sister-in-law, Lisa Hendrix (Ricky); Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hughes; as well as many, many nieces and nephews.

Buddy's steady kindness and sense of honor will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Buddy's passion was talking with his CB buddies, fishing and tinkering with anything he could find.

A Memorial Service for Buddy will be Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at New Life Baptist Church (694 Dry Hollow Rd E, Centreville, AL 35042) at 1:00 PM.
