Thomas Dennis Pounders

Thomas Dennis Pounders, age 87 of Bessemer, AL. passed away on May 14, 2019. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Sue Everett October 22, 1950 and they were married for 65 years. He was an elder of West Concord Church of Christ, a Brick Mason and Contractor and member of the Brick Layer and Tile Trades, International.
He is predeceased in death by his wife, Mary Sue Pounders; son, Spencer Pounders; son-in-law, Tommy Lacy; sister, Leatha Sanderson; brothers, Raymond and Ray Pounders; parents, Thomas J. and Hazel Pounders.
He is survived by his daughters, Priscilla (W.C.) Cagle, Demetria Lacy and Dominica Lane; grandchildren, Shana (Mark) Griffin, Austin (Sasha) Short, Amber (Cody) Higdon and Crystal Cagle; great grandchildren, Veda Short, Autumn Brooke Higdon, Sawyer Griffin, Evan Griffin, Marcus Higdon, Easton Griffin, Miley Nelson and Riley Carroll; Randy Lane; and other family and friends.
The visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel with a burial to follow in Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Brother James Pilgrim officiating.
