Sherry Ann Winslett Robertson
August 27, 1948 — November 30, 2023
Sherry Ann Winslett Robertson, 75, passed away November 30, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. Winslett and Ann Winslett Anthony. She is survived by her husband, David C. Robertson, her daughter, Gina Ann Oswalt, her son, Chadwick Eugene Oswalt (Natalie), her daughter Tracy Robertson Arizmendi (Michael), her grandchildren, Amanda Aloia (Kemp), C. J. Oswalt and Emily Oswalt, great-grandchildren, Braxton Bailey, Bentley Bailey and Maddox Aloia, her brother, Michael T. Winslett (Connie), and her furry, four-legged friend, Goofy.
Sherry was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family was a great source of joy in her life. In turn, Sherry’s love of life and her quick wit, along with her ability to share her many talents, were the highlights in the lives of her family members.
Sherry’s creative abilities knew no bounds. She had many hobbies which included her hours spent cross stitching. Sherry had many stitched pieces that were featured in Just CrossStitch magazine over the years and she gifted her family members and friends with framed artwork that now hangs beautifully on the walls in numerous homes. In her earlier years she and David participated in bowling leagues and traveled to tournaments across the country, but the travel destinations that meant the most to her were her trips to the coast and to the mountains.
Sherry also had many friends whom she loved as family and her hours spent in gathering with her friends to share meals and laughter were treasured memories. Sherry knew no strangers and frequently reached out to those she crossed paths with to share a smile, a friendly comment or a helping hand when needed. Sherry’s presence in the lives of her family and friends will truly be missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 10:30AM-11:00AM with the service beginning at 11:00 AM at Patterson Forest-Grove Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Birmingham Humane Society.
