Robert L. White, Jr., of Pleasant Grove, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 7, 2021. Robert was born on November 29, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama, and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bobbie, brother, Cecil White of Katy, Texas, as well as his extended family, Tim & Bonnie Davis, nephews, Wes Davis and Taylor Davis, Dan (and Leigha) Davis, Eric & Diane Bradley and niece, Rachel (Blair) Hamm, as well as numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee White, Sr., and Grace Fitts White, sister, Jackie Elmore and brother Ray White.
Robert was saved at an early age and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove.
In the early years, Robert served in the National Guard and worked at Pullman-Standard until it closed. He was owner/operator of a fabrication business until he retired. Robert loved the Lord, family, friends, life, and anything to do with cars, racing, and the lake living. He won several races in this early days at Birmingham International Raceway (BIR). He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially cruising in the pontoon boat down the Coosa River.
Robert was fun loving, compassionate, and caring and he was loved by all. His suffering has ended and he is with his loving Heavenly Father and is rejoicing with so many who have gone before him.
There will be a visitation time on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a Graveside Service following at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove for the Operation Christmas Child Fund or for the Easter Drama Fund.
