Robert "Bobby" Yancey

Robert “Bobby” Yancey was born on June 18, 1956. He received his ultimate victory & inheritance through Jesus on August 8, 2020 as he was welcomed into the open arms of his Heavenly Father. Pop, Dad, Uncle, Brother, Husband, Disciple, Prayer Warrior, Friend…Bobby filled many rolls in our lives. He stepped up to the plate in life & on the field, to give his all, to be a leader, & to love, never expecting anything in return. His smile, his strength to provide and protect, his faith in the Lord & his love for his family & grandchildren were obvious to all. May his love & legacy be carried on. Bobby was preceded in death by his father & mother. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Wynell Yancey; children - Robert Wayne Yancey, Michell Whittemore, Jenifer Poythress (John); grandchildren - Jalyn, Jacob, Harlea, Logan, Jason, and Gage; brothers - Randy and Danny, sister Sheila, and many nieces and nephews. The family will have a Celebration of Life to receive friends & family on Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at Venue 31|31 event center in Hueytown, located at 3131 Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive, Hueytown, AL. 35023 All are welcome to come & honor Bobby’s life. The family recognizes the current varying responses and personal preferences during the pandemic. Masks & sanitizer will be available as well as outside space for come & go greeting in an effort to avoid large indoor crowds.
