It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Travis Dickinson, 73, of Birmingham, AL. Rick passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026.

Born on November 11, 1952 in Birmingham, AL, Rick was known for his love of Crimson Tide Football, playing golf, watching Atlanta Braves baseball with his father, and following any sporting event on the radio or TV. He worked as an Ironworker, Millwright and welder for several large construction companies and enjoyed the outdoors and any sporting event.

He is survived by his children, Stacey Black and Travis Dickinson (Amanda), grandchildren Noah, Seth, Chase, and Trevor, brother Cliff Dickinson (Debbie), sisters Nancy Pritchard (Jim) and Jean Robinson (Fred), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Leslie & Bill Dickinson.

A private memorial service in Rick’s honor for close friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Foundry located in Bessemer, AL or First Baptist of Trussville.

A special thank you to Rick’s longtime friends, Ken Crowder and Mike Landmon for their friendship and tireless visitations, as well as Rick’s nurse, Suzanne Nipper, for her gentle & loving care provided during Rick’s brief illness.
