Rev. Wilton R. Price

Rev. Wilton R. Price, 89, of Adamsville, Alabama passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 7th.

Wilton was born and raised in Primitive Ridge West Blocton. He served as PFC Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve during the Cold War. He worked with the Mulga and Minor Fire Departments, as a volunteer. He retired from Mulga Water and Gas.

He enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing and swinging on the front porch. He loved to further his education by continuing college throughout his adult life and obtaining multiple certificates and degrees.

Rev. Price was a Bishop for the Church of God of Prophecy. He was the former pastor of West Blocton Church of God of Prophecy and Tannehill State Park Church. He also served as a Jefferson County Commissioner for Tannehill State Park for many years. He was a Notary Public and an Eagle in the Boy Scouts.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nadine and son Rex “Wayne” Price; parents James and Pauline Price; sisters and brothers; Sherry Bice (John), James “Don” Price, Jimmy “Jim” Price, Carolyn Small (Ronnie) and Gary Wayne Price; and Great Grand-Daughter OliviaGrace Myrick.

He is survived by daughter Bonnie Johnson (Chuck); Grand-Daughters; Amber Cooper (Robbie), Felisha Dougherty (Joe), and Hannah Myrick (Chris); Brother Larry Price (Linda); Great-Grand Children Josh, Nathanael, Hannah, Gabriela, Blake, Hope, Aleah, Chris Jr., William, and Eli.

Visitation services will be held Thursday, May 15th @ 1:00pm at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove. Graveside will be held immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Tannehill State Park.
