Neal Stephen Gast

Neal Stephen Gast was born on November 28, 1960 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was welcomed into heaven by Jesus and other loved ones on February 1, 2020 at the age of 59. Neal attended Hueytown Middle and High where he met and married his high school sweetheart Nada Curry. The two lived and raised their family in Hueytown, AL. Neal worked in the sign industry most of his life and lived out a passion for music as a guitarist and vocalist throughout the years. He loved his family more than anything in this world and was a devoted Husband, Dad, and PawPaw. Whether he was in the stands, coaching on the field, or playing on a stage he cherished his time with family and friends. He was thankful to live with God’s grace and will be missed by many.

Neal was preceded in death by his father William Franklin “Bill” Gast, Sr., mother Dorothy Lou “Dot” Gast, brother William “Billy” Gast Jr., sister Lou Ann Brown, and daughter Lauren Denee Gast. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nada K. Gast, children Austin Neal Gast, Holly Lou Nelson (Chris), Taylor Stephen Gast (Mendi) and grandchildren- Aidan Michael, Liston Christopher, Cooper Stephen, Arlen Neal, and Caroline Grace, brothers Leniel “Lenny” Gast (Cindy), Kelly Brown, and many nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Garywood Assembly of God in Hueytown. Pastor Jeff Leatherman will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Neal’s life.
