Mildred Brooks Stuart

Mrs. Mildred Brooks Stuart, 92, earned her angel’s wings and passed into eternity on Sunday, October 27th, 2019. She slipped peacefully away at her home after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Stuart was a long time member of the Eastern Star and was also a volunteer with the Lloyd Noland Hospital Auxiliary. She was an outstanding cook and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.

Mrs. Stuart was formerly of Wylam and Pleasant Grove, but had been residing in Foley, AL for the last 5 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Stuart, brothers, Mr. Troy Brooks and Mr. W.A. (Billy) Brooks, her sisters, Mrs. Pauline (Polly) Scott, Mrs. Pearl Brown, Mrs. Lucille Burnett, and Ms. Mattie Brooks. She is also survived by her 3 sons, Mr. J.W. (Bill) Rutledge and wife Crickett of Alabaster, Mr. Thomas L. "Tom" Rutledge and his wife JoAnn of Bastrop, Texas, and Mr. Ronald A. (Ronny) Rutledge and wife Ellen of Foley. Special nieces: Mrs. Lynn Sparks and husband Jim, and Ms. Jane Scott. Grandkids: Mrs. Donna Sawyer of Alabaster, Mrs. Marnie Shook and husband Joey of Pleasant Grove, John Rutledge of Lumberton, Texas, Nathan Rutledge and wife Ashleigh of Houston, Texas, Miss Alora Rutledge and fiance Stephen Mery of Austin, Texas, and Zachary Rutledge of Foley. Great Grandkids: Ashley Sawyer, Brooklynn Sawyer, Courtney Shook, Cory Shook, Ava Rutledge, Colton Rutledge, Nolan Rutledge and Natalie Rutledge.

Graveside Service will be held at Forest Grove Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove on Nov. 1st at 2 PM.
