Michael Glen Hancock, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous and faith-filled journey. A devoted husband, loving father, and proud (“PeePaw, Pop-Pop, Paw-Paw”) Michael’s life was a beautiful reflection of strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Tammy Hancock, and their children: Neil (Stephanie), Tracey (Joshua), Megan (Dave), Eric (Susan), Tamara (Jeremy), and Travis (Holly). He was a cherished grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, with one more blessing on the way.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, John L. Hancock, his mother, Doris Hancock, his brother, Gary Hancock, and his beloved son Chad (Connie), who was surely waiting to welcome him home.
He was always everyone’s biggest fan — not just because he loved sports, but because he truly believed in the people he loved. Whether you won or lost, succeeded or struggled, he was proud of you just the same. That kind of encouragement shaped lives, and it will never be forgotten.
One of his favorite things to say was:
“#1 Cane Fan, Alabama Hater Man!”
He loved his Miami Hurricanes and his Atlanta Braves — and you could count on him to cheer loud and proud for both.
Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he showed his family every single day. He was the kind of man whose impact will continue for generations.
The family has already held a private memorial service to honor his life and legacy. They ask for your continued prayers, shared memories, and support during this time of loss.
