Marvie Montgomery May, of Birmingham, passed away on January 4, 2020 at the age of 84. She was a long-time member of Unity Church of Christ, where she was taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ella Montgomery; and her husband of over 25 years, Richard O'Neal Hunter. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie (George) Sears; sons, Richard (Denise) Hunter, Douglas Wayne (Jacqueline) Hunter, Calbert (Chelsea) Hunter, Calvin (Jackie) Hunter, Gary Lee (Tracie) Hunter and James Eric (Stephanie) May; daughter, Elizabeth Johnson Sumpter; special sons, Orlando Cook and Michael Marbury; 60 grand, great grand and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow service in Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. John Thomas officiating.
