It is with broken hearts, but with the comfort of knowing she is finally home with Jesus, that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Sue Lockart, who went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2026, at the age of 60.

She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Ellen Headley and James Edward Headley, her siblings Steve Lafoy, Ricky Lafoy, Tommy Lafoy, Faye Cannady, and nephew Jacob Swindle.

She is survived by her husband Clint Lockart, her children Tiffany Shivers (Shawn), Laura Barnhill, Leldon Lockart (Elizabeth) and Cheyenne Lockart, her sister Jo Ellen Swindle (Steven), her grandchildren Maleigha Shivers, Payton Barnhill, Charlie Shivers, Braden Barnhill, Sawyer Shivers, Nick Barnhill, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Linda was one of the strongest, bravest, most loving and selfless people you could ever have the privilege of knowing. To know her was to love her. There was not a soul she met that she could not find a way to love, and she had a gift for making the people around her feel cared for, welcomed, and important.

She was a fighter in every sense of the word. This past year showed just how much strength she carried within her. She fought so hard, and through it all, she continued to teach those around her simply by the way she loved.

For one year and one day, God graciously gave her family more time with her while she was on hospice. That year brought trials and tribulations no family could ever fully prepare for, but it also brought an incredible gift: time. Time to slow down, time to be intentional, time to say “I love you” more, and time to realize just how precious the ordinary moments really are.

Linda had been teaching those lessons long before this past year. Throughout her life, she pushed the people she loved to keep going, to be strong, and to become the best versions of themselves. And when life felt overwhelming, she reminded them to simply “be still.” Those words will now carry an even deeper meaning and will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

While her family’s hearts are shattered by her absence, there is peace in imagining the celebration that took place when Linda entered Heaven. The woman who fought so hard here no longer has to fight. She is whole. She is healed. And she is finally home with Jesus.

Her life was a gift, her love will remain forever, and the lessons she taught will continue through every person who had the privilege of loving her.

Until we see you again, Linda. You were loved beyond measure, and you will be missed beyond words.
