John Allen Myers

John Allen Myers of Birmingham, Alabama went to meet Jesus on November 21, 2020 at the age of 65. Allen was a faithful husband, father, uncle, brother, nephew, and friend. He loved serving his church through teaching Sunday school and as a deacon, watching Alabama football, dancing with his sweet wife, and traveling. To Allen, music was an important expression of worship to the Lord in various church choirs growing up and within a congregation. In recent years, Allen had faced some difficult medical issues that added to his testimony to share Christ with other people. He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Myers, his grandfather Elmer Myers, his grandmother Myrtes Myers, grandfather Claude Allen Gilliam, and grandmother Mildred Kathleen Gilliam.
He is survived by his sweet wife of 32 years, Karen Peters Myers, mother: Annette Gilliam Myers, Aunt: Mary Nell Chambers (Bill), Brothers: Kenneth Myers (Annette) and Raymond Myers (Debbie), Sister: Cindy Myers Heritage (Darryl), and Brother in law: David Peters (Rita), children: Alison Myers and Rachel Myers (Chris-engaged), many nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Patterson Forest-Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove on November 25, 2020 at 11am with services to follow at 12pm. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove memorial Gardens.
