Jerry Leo Robinson Sr. passed away on July 15 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 18, 1936, Jerry dedicated over forty years of his life to his career as a land surveyor and engineer, a field in which he was respected and admired for his expertise.
Jerry was a devoted husband and father, leaving behind his beloved wife of 66 years, JoAnn Ciulla Robinson, whom he affectionately called Bug. His enduring love for JoAnn and his commitment to family were the cornerstones of his life. He is survived by his son, Jerry Robinson, Jr., and his two daughters, Susan DeRieux (Richard) and Gina Holmes (Robert). He cherished his role as a grandfather to his grandchildren, Jackson Holmes, Shyanne Holmes, Chandler DeRieux, and Zac Tony, who brought immense joy to his life.
In addition to his family, Jerry had a deep bond with his feline companion, Leo, whom he lovingly called Wewo. He frequently shared stories of their time together, often highlighting the love and comfort Leo brought him.
A devout Catholic, Jerry's faith was a guiding light throughout his life. He had a heart of gold and was known for his compassion and kindness to everyone he met. His passion for the outdoors led him to spend many cherished moments fishing and hunting, activities that further enriched the loving memories created with his family.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle Lee Robinson, and his brothers, Jimmy Robinson, Jackie Robinson, and HL Robinson.
Visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM at the Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Interment will follow in the adjoining Forest Grove Memorial Gardens.
