James Stephen Whittle

James Stephen Whittle, of Calera, Alabama, passed away on June 23, 2019 at the age of 77. He retired, as a Sergeant Major, from the US Army after 30 years of dedicated service. He is predeceased by his parents, James D. and Francis L. Whittle; brothers, Carl D. Whittle and Jerry R. Reedy; step-granddaughters, Leslie R. Bobo and Summer S. Kempfer. He is survived by his step-son, Larry G. (Jean) Williams; step-daughter, Patricia A. (Clarence) Wood; step-grandchildren, Misty A. Wood; six step-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles O. (Alicia) Whittle, Robert E. (Mary) Whittle, and Jimmy F. (Patricia) Reedy; uncle, Evans (Pat) Whittle; aunt, Vivian Whittle; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM with funeral services starting immediately following at 11:00 AM. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens.
