James Harold Carr, Jr.

James Harold Carr, Jr. (Jimmy) passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 at 70 years old in Bessemer, AL. He was a devoted partner, husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. He was a man who believed in working hard, loving deeply, and making memories that would last a lifetime.

Jimmy was born on April 24, 1956 to Harold and Shirley Carr in Bessemer, AL. He was married to Judy Elaine Skinner on March 16, 1979, who has preceded him in death.

He is survived by his long- time partner of 24 years, Sandra Hurst; Son, James Alan Carr (Ashley); Daughters, Ginger Renae Myers, Katherine Melton (Randy), and Beth Seagle. He is survived by siblings, Patsy (Zayne), Teresa, April, and Koby. He also had 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Shirley, brother, Mike Carr, and wife of 22 years, Judy Elaine Carr.

Though he is no longer here to share another fishing trip, hunting season, or Alabama Football Saturday, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2026 at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM in the chapel with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Pastor Keith Hudson officiating.
