Hershel Wayne Franks

Hershel Wayne Franks, age 78 of Concord, Alabama passed away Monday, January 15, 2024. He was a devoted son, husband, father and PawPaw to many. He was married to his beautiful wife Jean Franks for 57 years. He worked at Pullman Standard, Trinity Industries and McWane Pipe for many years. He enjoyed hobbies such as hunting, fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Avon Franks of Concord; brother, Ray Franks of Idaho; sister Sue Nell Etheridge of Decatur. He is survived by his loving devoted wife, Jean Franks; children, Rhonda Martin(Chris), Wayne Franks(Teresa), Angie Gaither(Scott); grandchildren, Casie Jones(C.J.), Amber McGough(Matt), Austin Franks, Kelsey Griffin, Tiffany Franks, Brittany Vines(Hunter), Paden Melton; great grandchildren, Gracie and Sophia Franklin, Harmony and Charlotte Griffin, Brynlee Hicks, Jack McGough; sisters, Faye Bolan, Reba Crow, Linda Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also, a special thank you to everyone who prayed for him. Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2024, 12:00PM-1:00PM with the funeral service beginning at 1:00PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove First Baptist Cemetery in Oak Grove, Alabama.
