Henry Clyde Flynn

Henry Clyde Flynn, 94 of Pleasant Grove, Alabama passed away August 2, 2019. He was a former Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove and he also served as a Deacon for Ensley Baptist Church for 61 years. He participated with the Amateur Softball Association for many years as a player, coach and other various positions. He was inducted into the Jefferson County and Alabama Hall of Fame for Fast Pitch Softball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His church, God, family and friends were his top priorities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Austin and Mary Ada Flynn; wife, Jewel; daughters, Henryetta Sandford and Belinda Turnipseed; grandson, Christopher Turnipseed; brother, TR "Rip" Flynn; sisters, Edna English and Christine Collins.
He is survived by his son, David C. "Helen" Flynn; daughters, Nancy (Eddy) Esco; brother, Leon (Joy) Flynn; grandchildren, Scott (Paige) Sandford, Leigh Ann LaScala, Ashley (Jamie) Tate, Jessica (Barry) Evans, Brooke Holloway, Hunter (Michelle) Flynn and Holly (Daniel) Waid and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home with the funeral beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Bro. Rick Cato officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove or the Big Oak Ranch.
