Gwin Raymond Coffey

Rev. Gwin Raymond Coffey, of Hueytown, AL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 87. He served with the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He retired from U.S. Steel after 25 plus years. He served as pastor at churches in Mississippi and Alabama for 67 years, most recently as Senior Adult Pastor at North Highlands Baptist Church in Hueytown. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Glenda Hutchison Coffey; children Greg (Jan) Coffey of Alabaster, Garry (Sherrie) Coffey of Bessemer and Gwendolyn Coffey Handley of Hueytown; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at North Highland Baptist Church, Hueytown, AL. Funeral service will be Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the church with burial in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. Rev. Michael Wallace officiating.
