Grace Elizabeth "Betty" McDonald
June 1, 1927 — September 26, 2025
Grace Elizabeth (Betty) McDonald, age 98 passed away September 26, 2025. She was a retired teacher, and long time member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Betty was affectionately known by her family as MarMar.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred William and Grace Rothwell Henckell, her sister Frances Margaret Henckell, her husband William Marvin McDonald, Jr. and her son William Alfred McDonald. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Grace Bryant (Cecil), grandchildren, Jennifer Lyn Hendrix Shirley (Danny) and Jeffrey Michael Hendrix (Haley); great grandchildren, Emmalyn Grace Shirley, Lilliana Grace Hendrix and Gage William Hendrix.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Emily Freeman Penfield will officiate. Following the burial a covered dish dinner will be held in the fellowship hall of the Church.
