Gloria Gean “Poodle” Thompson

Gloria Gean “Poodle” Thompson, age 79, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on August 27, 2025. Born on November 3, 1945, to William Arzie and Margaret Odell Humphries, she was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Pleasant Grove, and throughout her life nurtured a deep love for the arts, especially painting. Gloria will be fondly remembered as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and loyal friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Poodle is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, James K. Thompson. She is survived by her son, Ken Thompson (Stephanie); grandchildren, Nicole Pass (Henry) and Mia Thompson; great-grandchildren, Lachlan Pass and Penelope Pass; sisters, Linda Smith, Sylvia Youngers (Hugh), and Debbie Akins (Richard); brother, Billy Humphries (Cheryl); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the start of service. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
