Frederick Jerome Moore Sr. was born on December 15, 1964 to Jacqueline Moore and Willie Minor. He was reared by his adoptive maternal grandparents, Rosie L. and Leroy Moore Sr.
Frederick Sr. (affectionately called Freddy) received his early spiritual training at Thirgood Memorial CME Church where he participated in Sunday School and the Boy Scouts. He received his educational training in the Birmingham School System. He attended Graymont Elementary School and was a graduate of Glenn High School, Class of 1983. After high school, Frederick Sr. pursued many different career paths. He eventually found his passion in driving trucks. He was a dedicated and loyal truck driver for over 20 years. Frederick Sr. met the love of his life, Tonya Michelle Woods in 1985. They dated for two years and married on March 7, 1987. During the early months of his marriage Frederick Sr confessed Christ, was baptized, and joined Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. Three years later June 14, 1990, Frederick Sr. welcomed his only child, a son, Frederick Jr into the world. Frederick Sr. was not just a devoted and protective father, he was a loving and committed husband. On March 7, 2020 Frederick Sr and Tonya celebrated their thirty third (33rd) anniversary.
Frederick Sr. lived a beautiful life as a son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. God entered his hospital room at Princeton Baptist, looked at him during the early morning hours on July 8, 2020, and decided “no more earthly suffering my child”.
Frederick Sr. was predeceased by his wife, Tonya Michelle Moore; his father, Willie Minor; his maternal grandparents, Rosie L. and Leroy Moore Sr.; paternal grandparents, Daisy and Fred Minor; great uncle, Fred Minor Jr.; uncles, Leroy Jr. and Michael W. Moore.
He leaves to mourn and also cherish precious memories a son, Frederick Jerome Moore Jr.-Birmingham, AL; his mother, Jacqueline M. Williams-Alabaster, AL; brother, Thomas (Janice) R. Jones-Calera, AL; sister, Elena (Eric) Jackson-Alabaster, AL; mother-in-law, Nadine Todd-Birmingham, AL; great aunt, Janice Minor Jenkins-Trussville, AL; great aunt, Rosemary (Josh) Minor Jackson-Pleasant Grove, AL; aunt, Mattie Moore-Katy, TX; aunt, Thelma M. (Ben) Davis and uncle, Willie E. Moore both from Birmingham, AL. In addition, He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, classmates, high school fraternity (P.I.) brothers and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. Rev. John Cantelow, III officiating.
