Freddy Lee Abernathy

Freddy Lee Abernathy, 88 of Bessemer, Alabama passed away December 6, 2023. Freddy served 27 years in the Army National Guard and retired from Sears. He loved to work outdoors, either in the garden or in his shop. If you found him outside, he was on his tractor with his beloved dog riding along with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Nelson and Jean Abernathy, daughter, Judy Faye Abernathy. He is survived by his son, Freddy Len Abernathy, Vernon Abernathy (Pippa); daughters, Nadine Goodwin, Donna Garner (Bill); 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Meyer; brother Thomas Abernathy. A celebration of life will be Monday, December 11th at The Bible Comes to Life Church, 7258 Johns Road, Adger. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with the service beginning at 2:00 PM Bro. Phillip Hill officiating.
