Floyd A. Hyman, of McCalla, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on July 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on October 20, 1936, Floyd was the beloved son of the late Hazel K. Sniddy and Floyd J. Hyman. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Hyman.

Floyd spent more than four decades in the car business, owning and operating several new and used car lots throughout the Birmingham and Bessemer areas. He was best known as the proud owner of Floyd A. Hyman Used Cars, where his reputation for honesty and dedication earned him the trust of many in the community.

A passionate car enthusiast, Floyd, along with his wife, Bobbie, was an avid collector of street rods. He loved traveling across the Southeast to attend car shows, where he took great pride in showcasing his vehicles and connecting with fellow enthusiasts.

Floyd is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Hyman; his son, Dale Hyman (Pam) of Sylvan Springs; his daughters, Kathy Brooks (Mark) of Sylvan Springs and Valerie Garmon (Kevin) of McCalla. He was a proud grandfather to Tayler Brooks, Murry Hyman (Cheyenne), Steve Garmon (Alex), Evan Beck (Jade), Abby Hyman, Olivia Honeycutt (Ronnie), Lenzi Hyman, Elec Hyman, and Peyton Herron (Tyler).

Floyd was a devoted husband, loving daddy, and adored "Papaw" to his grandchildren. He loved his family deeply and was known for his kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. A faithful and active member of his church, Floyd's life was a reflection of his love for the Lord and his desire to serve others.

To have known Floyd Hyman was to know a man of integrity, generosity, and warmth. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2025 at Caffee Junction Church of God (21231 US 11, McCalla, AL 35111) from 11:00 AM until start of service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Bishop Keith Lairsey and Bishop Allen Kendrick officiating.
