Dora L. Stewart
January 23, 1936 — October 9, 2018
Dora L. "Sis" Shugrue Stewart, age 82 of Pelham, AL formerly of Pleasant Grove, passed away October 9, 2018. She was an active member of Maytown Baptist Church and was in charge of the food pantry until her health wouldn't allow her to do so any longer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stewart; brother, Johnny Shugrue and sister-in-law, Polly; sister-in-law, Sybil and step-daughter, Charlotte Russ. She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Persons (Bill); step-daughter, Maxine Stewart Curd (Ricky); step-son, Charles Stewart, Jr. (Nina); brother, Edgar Shugrue;and her loving extended family of numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Maytown Baptist Church with the funeral beginning at 12:00 PM at the church.
The family would like to express a special thank you to New Beacon Hospice and all their staff, especially Andrea for all their help and care.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Gideons International, Gideons Shelby East Camp, PO Box 131, Chelsea, AL 35043 or the Maytown Baptist Church Food Pantry.
