Derry Joe Benton, 78 of Hueytown, Alabama passed away November 15, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Alice Rose Benton; wife, Peggy Benton; son, Derry Joe Benton, Jr.; step-son, Jeffrey Dean McConathy. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Butler (Terry), step-son, Allen McConathy (Anna); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Janice Edwards (Jerry); brother, Robert Wayne Benton (Jan); and his caretaker, Robin Franklin. Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2019 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Fritz Harter officiating.
