Debra L. Akins

Debbie L. Akins, 74 of Hueytown, AL, passed on January 1, 2026. She loved playing Bingo and arcade games. Her family will always remember her                                                     adventurous nature. She loved to cook and care for her family, especially her grandsons.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Margaret O. Humphries and a sister, Gloria Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Akins; daughters, Amanda Lucas (Adam) and Alicia Akins; grandsons, Adam Lucas, II, Alex Lucas and Hadley Rae Schaeffer; sisters, Linda Smith and Sylvia Younger (Hugh); brothers, Bill Humphries (Cheryl); furry friends, Walnut, Peanut, Lucy, Tia and Tillie; numerous niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A graveside funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM. Rev. Keith Sharp officiating.
