David Wayne Doles

David Wayne Doles, 64, of Hueytown, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Born October 15, 1960, he was the middle child of the late Ralph and Dolores Doles. He grew up in Hueytown and attended Hueytown High School.

He is survived by his children, Lauren Nicole Doles and David Wayne (Dewayne) Willmon; his brother, Steve Doles; his sister, Tabitha Doles-Waldrop; and his nieces and nephews, Lindsey Allinder, Kendall Waldrop, Hudson Waldrop, and Preston Waldrop.

David studied Computer-Aided Drafting and worked as a draftsman and project manager for Marsh Industries until he retired and became an independent contractor.

A natural builder and craftsman, David had a remarkable talent for carpentry, construction, and mechanics—often creating and restoring everything from boats to buildings to cars with his own two hands.

In addition to his craftsmanship, David was an exceptional artist. Whether painting or drawing, he could recreate anything—from detailed characters to animals and objects—on paper or canvas with striking accuracy and imagination.

David was also an incredibly gifted musician, known for his ability to play any song by ear as though he had practiced it for years. He could play any instrument, from piano to guitar to harmonica. His music brought joy and comfort to everyone around him and will be deeply missed.

Beyond his talents, David was known for his kind and gentle spirit. He was the sweetest soul—never one to speak ill of others, always seeing the good in people and every situation. His warmth and positivity left a lasting impression on every single person that met him.

A devout Christian, David attended Garywood Assembly of God as a child, and was a faithful member of Heritage Christian Center and attended every Sunday. His life was a quiet testimony of grace, faith, and love.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. All who knew and loved David are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
