Charles Dan Walden, 78 from Concord, Alabama passed away at home on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Born June 15, 1946 he was the eldest child of the late Charles and Mary Sue Walden.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie June Walden, children- Kathy Flowers (Owen), Jerry Walden (Jill); grandchildren-Jade Bunn (Kacy), Luke Nelson and Jailyn, Jaina and Jordan Walden: great grandchildren: Dan and Kate Bunn, Jace and Jeremiah Wright, Nolan Perry, Charleigh and Kameron Walden, his three brothers Paul, Michael and Randy Walden; and many nephews and nieces.
Dan retired from the Alabama Power Company after 40 years of service. He was born and raised in Concord Baptist Church; attending there for 50 years before attending Pleasant Grove Assembly and the last four years, Church of His Presence in Daphne, Alabama after moving to Foley Alabama.
He loved many things in life but to name a few; his family first. With such gentleness he took care of his family and always making sure we were in church.
On any given afternoon he was found listening to his music as he piddled in his garage, making jigs or what not, with the sweet aroma of his pipe in the air.
Fridays nights, well that was reserved for Birmingham International Raceway. The time he spent with his brothers racing (or getting ready to) were some of his favorite.
Now Saturdays came the man on Lock 5 keeping that hook wet and the folks in the boat quiet. He was the crappie whisperer!! On the water is where he found his peace this side of heaven.
Riding his motorcycle with his wife June thru the Smokey Mountains dodging bears and watching the leaves change. These trips are some of their most treasured times.
This gentle whistler that never had a bad word to say about anyone, that would give you the shirt off his back or the last tool in his garage is now in perfect peace and will be missed until we meet again.
You are invited to celebrate his life, Saturday, May 31st at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home and Crematory, in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Viewing at 11:00 and Funeral Service at noon.
