Charles Norman Green

Charles Norman Green, age 71, of Bessemer, AL, passed away on January 16, 2026. Charles was a longtime and devoted member of the 1st Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove, where he found both spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community.

Charles was known by most of his coworkers as Chip and family and friends as Chuck. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life working as a Maintenance Technician, culminating in his retirement from ACIPCO. His strong work ethic and technical expertise earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Charles cherished time spent with his family, finding great joy in coaching his daughter and son’s ball teams. He loved sharing his passion for the outdoors, often taking his children and grandchildren on memorable hunting and fishing trips. His extensive knowledge of auto mechanics made him invaluable to family and friends whenever something needed fixing. Charles was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Grace Green. He leaves a devoted wife of 52 years, Denise Green; daughter, Michele Reitz (Michael); son, Heath Green (Jazmin Duque); grandchildren, Justin Reece (Brit), Brandon Reece (Brittany), Tyler Reece; Sabastian Green, Anisa Vojdani; great grandchildren, McKinley and James; sister, Eleanor Hatchett; brother, Mark Green (Louis); and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1st Baptist Church Pleasant Grove from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with burial in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Pastor Les Hughes officiating.
