Brian "Spud" K. Brown

Brian Keith Brown, affectionately known as “Spud,” of Pell City, Alabama, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2026, at age 52. He was born on March 15, 1974, to Thilmon Brown, Jr. and Laura Chapman.

Spud worked as a security guard for several companies and served as a volunteer firefighter with the Center Point, Trussville, Lakeview, and McCalla departments. He was also a paramedic.

He loved racing of any kind and anything with a motor. He held a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for family and friends during the holidays.

Spud was preceded in death by his father, Thilmon Brown, Jr., and his furry friend, Scrappy.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of six years, Fay Barber; his mother, Laura A. Ellard; his sister, Peggy Boyd (Michael); his brother, David Hardin; his nieces, Ashlyn and Leah; his nephew, Chris (Kellsey); his special friends, Dale Smith and Kyle Horn; and many other relatives and friends.
